Application fees for school ($150),

Application Process
STEP 1
Submit the following to OISP office address located on the cover of the
application form:
- a
completed application form signed by the student and parent(s)
- official
copies of school report cards for the past 2 years
- current
year’s
school report card
- certified
translated copies of school report cards
- one passport
size photograph
- letter
of recommendation from a teacher or school principal (use form provided)
- $150
non-refundable application fee (certified cheque, bank draft, or
electronic funds transfer receipt)
- $125
application fee if attending the High School Foundation Program at
YPLS
If homestay
is required, also submit the following:

STEP 2
You will receive an initial acceptance letter within two weeks if all
documentation is in order. The acceptance package will also include Custodianship
forms (if applicable).
Step 3
Send the full tuition fee, medical fee, homestay fees (one semester +
any extra days), homestay deposit, airport fees and a notarized custodianship
document to the Ottawa International Student Programs office.
STEP 4
You will receive a final letter of acceptance and will need to apply
to the nearest embassy, Canadian Consulate, or High Commission for a
Study Permit. Approval may take 6-20 weeks. (Please contact the nearest
Canadian Immigration office for detailed information on application processing
times in your country. Note that applications for a Study Permit must
be submitted from outside Canada.)
Refund
Policy – Tuition
Fees All requests for refunds must be made
in writing and sent to the Ottawa International Student Programs office.
FULL REFUND of the tuition fee less the application fee will be given
if immigration Canada does not approve the study permit. To obtain the
refund, a request in writing must include the letter of refusal from
Canadian Immigration and the original letter of acceptance from the Ottawa-Carleton
District School Board.
TWO-THIRDS of the tuition fee will be refunded if a student withdraws
prior to the commencement of the program.
ONE-HALF of the tuition fee will be refunded if the student withdraws after the
commencement of the program but before 30 calendar days have elapsed.
NO REFUND will be granted to a student who:
- withdraws
30 days after the commencement of
the program;
- is dismissed
from the program due to a breach of law, policy or regulation as
determined
by the Government of Canada, the Police, Ottawa-Carleton
District School Board, and/or Ottawa International Student Programs.
Homestay Cancellations
A FULL
REFUND less the non-refundable amounts will be given if students
are refused a visa by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
Students who cancel 30 days or MORE before the start of the semester
will receive a full refund minus the non-refundable amounts: placement
and custodianship fees.
Students who cancel 29 days or LESS before the start of the semester
will receive a full refund minus the non-refundable amounts: placement
and custodianship fees and one month homestay fees.
After arrival, students must give two months notice if they wish to leave
the homestay program. A $125 cancellation fee, in addition to one month
homestay fees (if applicable), will apply to students leaving the program. |
