District Profile


The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is a part of the Province of Ontario's public school system and provides education to students living in the 2,760 square kilometre area known as the Region of Ottawa-Carleton. This area encompasses the cities of Gloucester, Kanata, Nepean, Ottawa and Vanier, the townships of Cumberland, Goulbourn, Osgoode, Rideau, West Carleton and the village of Rockcliffe.

Enrolment

  • Student enrolment is over 70,000.
  • The OCDSB employs approximately 7000 full-time staff.

School Organization

The OCDSB has 145 schools:

  • 119 elementary schools including intermediate schools and two special education centres
  • 25 secondary schools, which include two vocational secondary schools, one adult high school and four alternate sites
