By-laws

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board has established a set of by-laws and standing rules to govern the structure and proceedings of the Board of Trustees, as required under the Education Act of Ontario.  

The rules of order for the conduct of meetings of the Board and any Committees of the Board, is set out in Annex 5 of our by-laws. In any situation for which there is no specific provision in these rules of order, or for matters of interpretation, the Board has adopted as its parliamentary authority the latest edition of Procedures for Meetings and Organizations by M. K. Kerr and H. W. King, Carswell Legal Publications, Toronto.
