The Education Foundation of Ottawa is a registered, non-profit charity that collaborates with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. The Foundation provides emergency funds for basic individual student needs based on family circumstances. Students cannot learn if their basic needs are not met.

The Education Foundation of Ottawa also funds projects that enhance student success such as literacy, numeracy, technology, trades, outdoor education, the arts, recreation, and character education. The Foundation also invests in long term solutions that reduce the impact of poverty on student success by supporting students who have significant challenges and providing funds to help them participate in musical, artistic, and recreational programs.

The goal of the Education Foundation of Ottawa is to develop healthy, self-confident individuals by encouraging students to participate, to strive for excellence, and to develop strong leadership skills.
