Welcome to the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. We are the largest provider of English public education in the city of Ottawa. A dedicated Board of Trustees and dynamic, talented staff provide challenging programs to help your children develop to their full potential.
Not sure where to start? The fine achievements of students and staff can be viewed in the annual Report to the Community (PDF). In addition to the English/Core French program, we offer excellent French Immersion programming, and alternative elementary schools designed for parents and students who seek a different approach to learning. We also offer alternate secondary programs and highly respected magnet programs for arts students, elite athletes, and International Baccalaureate students. Two specialized vocational schools offer students the opportunity to learn valuable technical and trade skills. We provide a continuum of programs and services for students with special education needs, including Gifted programs. Adults who wish to complete their secondary school diploma and anyone interested in recreation and the arts are also well-served.
Parents are important school partners and participation is welcomed by school councils. Your community school will be pleased to provide information and to help you register your child.
