Student Transfers
Student Transfer Policy Provides School Choice
Students may apply, space permitting, to transfer to a school of their choice under our Student Transfer Policy. It is important to note that students must register at their designated school prior to applying for a student transfer.
The guidelines and transfer process are outlined in Policy P.077.PLG Designated Schools/Student Transfers located in the Policies section on our website and in corresponding Procedure PR.568.PLG (PDF) Designated Schools/Student Transfers — Elementary and Procedure PR.569.PLG (PDF) Designated Schools/Student Transfers — Secondary, found in the Procedures section.
If parents/guardians (or the student if the age of majority has been reached) would like the student to attend a school other than his or her designated school for the following school year, a completed transfer form must be returned to the receiving school principal during the application period noted below. Please note, students who are not attending their designated school are not entitled to
transportation.
Elementary student transfer forms are available at all elementary schools. Students requesting a transfer for grade 9 should complete the Secondary Student Transfer Form available at all secondary schools. If you have any questions about transfer requests, please contact your designated school.
