SCHOOL BUS SAFETY AWARENESS DAY

Sunday, August 24, 2008 / 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Local school boards, in conjunction with the school bus operators within the city of Ottawa, will be presenting a School Bus Safety Awareness Day on Sunday, August 24, 2008, for all first-time bus riders. This co-operative venture will be held concurrently at five different school sites within the city of Ottawa.

Of our nearly 70,000 students, about 31,000 require daily transportation to and from school, travelling 65,000 kilometres a day in 650 vehicles.

EAST: from the Ottawa River south on St. Laurent Boulevard; west on Walkley road to Heron Road; Heron Road to the Rideau River; south along the Rideau River to the City of Ottawa limits

WEST: from the Ottawa River go south on Pinecrest Road to Baseline road; east on Baseline Road to Heron Road; Heron Road to the Rideau River; south on the Rideau River to the City of Ottawa limits

CENTRAL: from the west at the Ottaw River, south on Pinecrest Road to Baseline Road; east on Baseline Road to Heron Road; Heron Road to Walkley road; Walkley Road to St. Laurent Boulevard; north on St Laurent Boulevard to the Ottawa River.
