Fulfilling our mission of Educating for Success – Inspiring Learning and Building Citizenship takes many people, on the front lines and behind the scenes: from teachers, principals and vice-principals to superintendents and other leaders, as well as a variety of administrative and support staff.

With over 150 schools, we are the largest school board in Eastern Ontario, serving over 68,000 students within the City of Ottawa, including West Carleton, Kanata, Goulbourn, Rideau, Nepean, Osgoode, Gloucester, Orleans and Cumberland. Our Board employs some 7,200 teaching, administrative, para-professional and custodial staff in schools and administrative offices throughout the City of Ottawa.

We see ourselves as a ‘people organization’ where each individual has an important role to play in supporting student learning and academic excellence. That’s why our Staff Development team offers a rich series of workshops and training opportunities throughout the year for all employee groups, including the renowned New Teacher Induction Program.
