At its meeting of June 9, 2009, the school was officially named South March Public School.

South March Public School at 1032 Klondike Road in Kanata is opening this September 2009. The school will accommodate students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 and offer both English and Early French Immersion programs.  We look forward to seeing you in September! Here are the suggested class supplies that you can purchase ahead of time for Primary (grades 1 – 3) (PDF) and Junior (grades 4 – 6) (PDF)

Daycare Registration Begins May 11, 2009
We can now confirm that the daycare provider at Briarbrook P.S. will be Children's Village. All registration will take place on Monday, May 11, beginning at 12:00 AM (that is the Sunday night at midnight) through the Centralized Waiting List. Families will find the Children's Village centre on the drop down menu listing programs and can register on-line.

Growing to serve you better

We continue to welcome new students at existing schools and will be expanding facilities to serve students better. Additions are in the planning stages at Berrigan Elementary School in Barrhaven, Huntley Centennial Public School in Carp, Jack Donohue Public School in Kanata, and Stonecrest Elementary School in Woodlawn.

Updates on these building projects will be posted to the Board’s website as soon as details become available.

More Schools, More Choices At The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.

Parents, students and the community in Barrhaven South will have a new, state-of-the-art school to call their own in September 2009. Situated on a prime 15-acre site beside existing parkland at the northeast corner of Longfields Drive and Berrigan Drive (next to Berrigan Elementary School) the new 183,000 square foot facility will initially welcome students in grades 7-9 and eventually offer a wide choice of programs for grades 7-12.

Designed by the award-winning Ottawa architectural firm of Edward J. Cuhaci & Associates, the new school will be the first to serve grades 7-12 in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and an exciting new option for parents and students. Extensive consultative efforts between staff, community groups, academic experts and the Ministry of Education have been held to ensure that the new school offers a welcoming environment and delivers educational excellence that contributes to student success.
