Experiential Education at the Bill Mason and MacSkimming Outdoor Education Centres
Students in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board have the unique opportunity to discover the natural environment at the Bill Mason and MacSkimming Outdoor Education Centres. Grade 3 and 7 classes participate in a free program each year as part of the OCDSB’s Every Student Attends program. The experience of learning in a natural setting develops a special appreciation for the delicacy of the natural environment and lends itself to environmentally friendly decision making. In addition to Natural Science, we offer programs in Canadian History, Outdoor Skills, and Team building. All programs are designed to enhance classroom learning and are directly linked to the Ontario Curriculum.

The Bill Mason Outdoor Education Centre is located in Dunrobin in the west end and the MacSkimming Outdoor Education Centre is located in Cumberland in the east end of Ottawa.
